International Student FAQ's

In this online program, we have students located all around the world across several time zones. Ahead of applying we want to make sure that you are aware of the requirements for all students in the program to make sure that you are able to make it work with your schedule. Below are the questions we are asked most often by our international students. Is this program located on campus?

No, this program is fully online. There is an on-campus program that you can learn more about here, but that is a separate admissions process. For more information, please contact Melissa at melissa.ornat@nd.edu.

 

Does the Online Data Science Master’s Program offer visas?

Since this program can be taken from anywhere in the world, we do not offer visas for the program. 

 

Do I ever need to travel to campus?

We do require students to attend the orientation immersion, but if you are unable to travel from your country please let us know and we will make alternate arrangements. 

 

What time zone requirements are in place for this program?

Live sessions are required and part of your grade in this program. Our live sessions and deadlines are all on Eastern Time (New York). If you are located in another time zone, you are still expected to attend live sessions and submit all assignments on time. 

 

What software and technology are required for this program?

You will need to be able to access the Chrome Browser as well as Zoom video conferencing software.  Applicants should verify that their country allows access to Zoom video conferences from the U.S. 

 

We ask that all students test out their software and technology ahead of the start of the semester. You will need a computer for this program, you will not be able to complete the program on a tablet or mobile device because of some of the software requirements.
