Our online program attracts students spanning various time zones. Before you apply, we want to ensure you're aware of the program’s requirements for all students and how they might fit with your schedule. Is this program located on campus?

Does the Online Master's in Data Science Program offer visas?

No, we do not offer visas.

Can I attend the program if I do not live in the United States?

The University of Notre Dame is not authorized to deliver educational programs via distance learning outside of the United States.

Do I ever need to travel to campus?

Attendance at the orientation immersion is required for all students. 

What time zone requirements are in place for this program?

Live sessions are mandatory and contribute to your overall grade in this program. All live sessions and deadlines follow Eastern Time (New York). Regardless of your time zone, you are expected to attend live sessions and submit assignments on time. 

Live sessions take place on Mondays and Thursdays, with two available sections: East (7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. ET) and West (9:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. ET). 

What software and technology are required for this program?

You will need access to both the Chrome browser and Zoom video conferencing software. Applicants should ensure their computer permits access to Zoom video calls.

You will need a computer to complete this program, as it requires specific software that is not compatible with tablets or mobile devices. We ask that all students test out their software and technology ahead of the start of the semester.
