How can data science inform better investment decisions? To make sense of massive and complex financial data sets, companies are increasingly turning to data scientists for answers. In his research, Professor Huy Huynh focuses on capturing and analyzing new sources of financial data, building predictive models and running simulation study of market events.
Prof. Huynh joined the Notre Dame faculty in 2012 as an Assistant Professional Specialist in the Department of Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics. He also serves as a concurrent Assistant Professor of the Practice in the Department of Management, Mendoza College of Business. A passionate and dedicated teacher, Professor Huynh strives to help his students comprehend the material, enjoy learning, and apply what they learn to solve real world context problems. An active member of Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and The Options Industry Council (OIC), Professor Huynh often brings his trading experience into classroom environment.
Professor Huynh received his Ph.D. in Mathematics in 2012 and M.S. in Statistics in 2009 from Georgia Institute of Technology. In his spare time, he enjoys watching college football, playing badminton and singing karaoke.
